Danish Comwell enters a collaboration with one of the largest hotel brands in the world

The Danish hotel chain, Comwell Hotels, has sealed an exclusive agreement with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, which is one of the world's largest hotel franchise businesses with 9,200 hotels  in over 80 countries. The collaboration will help strengthen the international sales channels for Comwell and will initially include Comwell Aarhus and Comwell's first and largest hotel in Copenhagen, Comwell Copenhagen Portside, which opens in January 2021.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts moves into Scandinavia for the first time. This is in conjunction with the exclusive agreement that has just been signed between Comwell Hotels and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. The agreement means that Comwell will become the official representative of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts in Denmark with both existing and potential new hotels – in addition to a strategic and international sales collaboration on accommodation and meeting bookings and a large loyalty programme. Initially, Comwell Aarhus and Comwell Copenhagen Portside will be the first hotels to be a part of Dolce by Wyndham, which is one of Wyndham's 20 hotel brands.

With 817,000 rooms spread over 9,200 hotels in more than 80 countries, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is the world's largest franchise chain of hotels. The hotel group is particularly prominent in the American, European and Asian markets and has 77 million loyalty members.

Group CEO of Comwell Hotels, Peter Schelde is delighted with the new international partnership agreement:
"Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is one of the world's largest hotel brands and matches our values and brand. They have a strong international sales team with global customers, which means that in the future it will boost our strength on the market, not least next year, when we open our first and largest hotel in Copenhagen in January 2021. We know that on a domestic level, we anticipate a continued rise in the number of overnight stays and an increasing number of enquiries for international meetings and conferences, so  I have high hopes for our future collaboration with Wyndham and believe it will strengthen Comwell's chain power at the same time,” says Peter Schelde.

The collaboration with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts will have no impact on Comwell's ownership, brand or service, and the hotels will still be called Comwell. Comwell Aarhus will already become part of Dolce by Wyndham by mid-September.

Dimitris Manikis, president and managing director, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts EMEA, adds:
“With its charming architecture and design, exciting culinary scene and hospitable population, it is no surprise that Denmark is attracting an increasing number of international visitors. The country has positioned itself as a growing centre for conferences and corporate events, and we are delighted to enter this attractive market with Comwell Hotels. Their solid expertise in meetings, conferences, concepts and their proud reputation for running hotels of exceptionally high standards make them a strong match for our Dolce by Wyndham brand and a perfect partner for launching the brand in Scandinavia.”
