Activities at the Hotel

Tailored Walking and Running Routes
Do you prioritize the freedom to use nature for daily exercise? Then join us around the hotel's surrounding nature. We have tailored three different digital running routes and added them to the RunGo app, which tells and shows you which route to take, how far is left, and which roads or trails to use. Just like a GPS in a car.

The short distance of 3 km is also recommended for "walk and talk", which is a healthy break during a meeting or seminar. RunGo is free and can be used for iOS and Android - both on mobile and on Apple Watch.

Swimming in the Sea or Pool
You can use the hotel's pool area for swimming, but why not try swimming in a real forest lake with measurements and maps? Of course, you can borrow wetsuits at the hotel. The swimming lane in the delicious lake St. Økssø is in operation in the summer months. Combined with the 1.8 km marked swim route, there are good opportunities for training for a triathlon, among other things.

Various Board Games
Board games are more popular than ever, and everyone can participate. We have a selection of different board games that you are welcome to borrow. Just ask at the reception.

Table Football Challenge
Do you want to challenge your family, colleagues or friends in fun games? Just ask at the reception. We have darts, table football, and billiards.

Nature Experiences Near the Hotel

Nearest Beach
At Comwell Rebild Bakker, we are extremely fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful nature, and Store Økssø is no exception. Just under 6 km from the hotel, you will find this gem of a bathing lake, which not only offers a refreshing swim but also has stroller-friendly paths for plenty of beautiful walks. In fact, the lake is among the cleanest in North Jutland, so don't be scared off by its somewhat brown appearance, which is due to humus substances from the forest floor and is completely harmless!

Nearest Green Area
In the midst of some of Denmark's most beautiful nature - that calls for a hike! The hilly heath landscape and grazing sheep on the hills are magnificent no matter what time of year you're here. Benches along the way provide an opportunity to take a break and take it all in amidst the silence. The hilly terrain was created by meltwater streams and is actually false hills.

In the nature around us, there is also a wealth of springs and streams, including Ravnkilden and Kovadsbækken. And the gentle rippling of the water is nothing short of the perfect soundtrack for a hike!

Deep in the forest, you will also find Troldeskoven, which really fires up the imagination with its crooked beech trees, an icon in Rold Skov! The beeches in Troldeskoven are the forest's oldest beeches, direct descendants of the very first beech trees and are over 300 years old.

Nearest Ice Cream Shop
One of the biggest attractions in North Jutland, without actually being an attraction, is the large, delicious, and cheap ice cream from Vebbestrup Flødeis about 14 km from the hotel. Consider taking the trip on a rented bike via Hærvejen. It's worth the trip, as the ice cream is both a sight to see and a taste sensation!

Nearest Family Activities
A nature playground in Denmark's most beautiful nature? Yes, please! Røverknolden in Rold Skov is a huge playground with a slide, a fire pit, tables and benches, and a half roof. And there are instruments carved in wood with beautiful patterns and funny animals. Røverknolden is loved by children of all ages and their parents!

Explore the sensory path with a forest full of experiences, including a giant spider in a wood sitting in its large web, which the children can of course climb around in. And large mushrooms in different colours. And do like Tarzan when he swings on the vines: take a ride on the zip line and feel the rush in your stomach!

If you're a fan of mountain biking, you should head to Rold Skov, which offers the best mountain biking terrain in Denmark. "Den store Rold Skov Rute" is part of "De 10 spir," which is the Nature Agency's answer to the 10 best routes in Denmark.
