Comwell hands over operation of hotel property in Sorø

After more than 20 years of hotel operations in Sorø, Comwell Hotels will hand over the operation of Comwell Sorø to CIC Hospitality on 1 November 2023. All employees at the hotel will have the opportunity to continue working under the new operator.

Comwell Hotels has been represented in the West Zealand town of Sorø since 1999 but is now handing over the operation of the hotel property to new hands.

"We have been very happy to run a hotel in Sorø, where we have created great results and launched many good initiatives over the years. Comwell Sorø is a little gem in beautiful surroundings, which we are sad to leave. We have had a good dialogue with the owner of the property about future lease conditions, but we can no longer meet each other's expectations for extending the lease," says Peter Schelde, CEO of Comwell Hotels.

All employees secured

The property's new operator CIC Hospitality, which also operates hotels in Norway and Sweden, is looking forward to taking over the operation of the current Comwell Sorø: "We look forward to taking over responsibility for the hotel operation in the fine, unique building in Sorø. And not least to the collaboration with all the hotel's current employees, who, if they wish, can continue with us as their employer. In the same way, guests who already have a future booking are also guaranteed to keep it," says Øyvind Øhman, Senior Operations Manager at CIC Hospitality.

Strongly represented in the area

Comwell Hotels will continue to be strongly represented in the area. "Fortunately, Comwell has several fantastic hotels in the area in relative proximity to Sorø - in Køge, Roskilde, and Klarskovgaard near Korsør. So our loyal guests will continue to have easy access to the facilities and high level of service they know us for." Guests and customers who may be affected by the change of operator will - if they wish - be able to transfer existing bookings to one of Comwell's other hotels.
