A good match for business customers and entrepreneurs

Comwell Hotels is expanding its well-known service concept when it becomes possible to rent an office space at Comwell's new hotel in Nordhavn from 1 April 2021. Comwell has entered into a co-operation agreement with the Danish company ordnung to rent out modern office facilities at Comwell Copenhagen Portside. Comwell's CCO, Michael Hansen, calls the collaboration with ordnung a good match with business and long-term potential.

Comwell Copenhagen Portside, which opened in January, will be buzzing with additional activity when, from 1 April 2021, it will be possible to rent one of the newly furnished office spaces in Comwell's newly built hotel in Nordhavn. Comwell has entered into a partnership agreement with ordnung, which currently operates 12 office hotels with more than 2,500 workstations in Denmark.

Comwell challenges its own concept again
Comwell is looking forward to the new collaboration, and CCO at Comwell, Michael Hansen, calls it common sense to challenge its own business concept:

‘When we launched Co-Work areas at all our hotels in 2017, where guests can freely use well-appointed areas for short-term meetings or work tasks, it really challenged our own business concept. The concept didn't take the bread out of our mouths. On the contrary, we see a lot of entrepreneurs taking advantage of our Co-Work while also utilising our meeting and restaurant facilities. I think it's necessary to dare to challenge your own business concept from time to time if you want to be strong and competitive in the market.’

‘The collaboration with ordnung is therefore a good match with our brand. We are both facility providers. They with offices and we with rooms and meeting rooms. In addition, we have services such as reception, cleaning and technical support. We see a really good synergy between running a hotel with overnight accommodation, offering meeting rooms, running a restaurant and at the same time offering office facilities with associated services. This gives our business customers the opportunity to access our well-known meeting and service concepts while having the flexibility of a shared office.’

When asked whether the collaboration with ordnung is a consequence of the corona crisis, Michael Hansen says:
‘We've been thinking about this for a long time and how we can further expand our services to the Danish business community. The corona crisis has accelerated the process and made it even more relevant. We can see a tendency for Danish companies to seek new opportunities due to the corona crisis when it comes to office facilities and workplaces. We believe that an office hotel in an attractive location and with our award-winning services will be the future for many companies.’

New city district perfect for office hotel
Ordnungs COO, Hauke Haas, sees great potential in the upcoming office spaces at Comwell's new hotel and in the Nordhavn neighbourhood:

‘It has become more popular than ever before to rent shared office space, both for small and large companies. It helps to free up capital, and at the same time it gives companies the opportunity to create knowledge sharing with the other tenants. The perfect office location for a company looking for new office space depends on many parameters. Industry, company size, finances, employees, desired facilities and company reputation are just some examples.’

‘Comwell's new hotel is not only a modern metropolitan hotel with a modern design and atmosphere. It is also located in a new neighbourhood that will be one of Copenhagen's most exciting in the near future with a good mix of homes and businesses, recreational areas, exciting liberal professions, good infrastructure and a short distance to the metro. On top of that, our customers get Comwell's well-known brand, high level of service, food concept and care for the environment. This appeals to many companies and employees,’ says Hauke Haas.

A possibility of extending the co-operation agreement
Ordnung currently operates 12 office hotels around the country, where more than 400 companies rent on a daily or long-term basis. At Comwell Copenhagen Portside, ordnung is responsible for leasing, furnishing and dialogue with the office tenants, while Comwell takes care of IT, cleaning and security. With the new and ground-breaking co-operation agreement, both parties are open to establishing office hotels at other Comwell hotels in the future.
