Bespoke walking and running
routes
Is the freedom to incorporate nature into your daily
exercise high on your list of priorities? Then join us on a walking/running
route and explore the hotel’s nature surroundings. We’ve created three different
digital running routes and added them to the RunGo app, which uses turn-by-turn
navigation to show you which route to run, the remaining distance and which
roads or paths you should take. Just like a car’s GPS system.
The shorter three-kilometre route is also recommended as a walk-and-talk route for a healthy break during a meeting or seminar.RunGo is free and available for iOS and Android – for both smartphone and Apple Watch.

H. C. Andersens Hus
H. C. Andersen’s House in Odense is the primary museum
about the fairy tale poet and author Hans Christian Andersen, and is located
only 100 metres from our hotel. Odense’s biggest new attraction in years is set
to open in summer 2021 – the Hans Christian Andersen Museum. The museum was
designed by the famous Japanese architect Kengo Kuma and consists of both
indoor and outdoor spaces that together extend across 12,600 m2 (2/3 of the
museum is underground).

Bring your family to Odense ZOO to enjoy some amazing
experiences – get up close and personal with giraffes, lions and penguins at
one of Europe’s top zoos.
The Funen Village
The Funen Village is an open-air museum in Odense
featuring farms and houses as they would have looked on the island of Funen in
the 19th century. The village is connected to the Fruens Bøge woodland park and
includes a total of 25 buildings and farm complexes from the Funen area. The
buildings date from around 1500 to just after 1900. The Funen Village offers a
wide variety of activities for all ages.
Egeskov Castle
Egeskov Castle is one of Northern Europe's
best-preserved Renaissance castles, built as two longhouses rising directly
from the lake. Feel the sweep of history as you visit the beautiful
466-year-old castle. You can come inside and see the castle, have a walk in the
beautiful gardens, or visit the Classics Museum and the Falck Museum.
Danish Railway Museum
If you want to experience what it was like to sit in
the royal carriages or in first class in the old days, or experience Denmark's
oldest preserved steam locomotive from 1868 up close, then you should visit the
Danish Railway Museum, which is located next to Odense Railway Station.
Exhibits include an extensive collection of train carriages, locomotives,
models of trains and ferries and other effects. The exhibits give an impression
of Denmark's railway history, particularly that of the State Railways.
Odense Cathedral
St. Canute's Cathedral, also known as Odense
Cathedral, is named after St. Canute, who was murdered in 1086 in St. Alban's
Priory, which was close to the present-day church. The church was consecrated
on 30th April 1499. The church tower is 63 metres high and is therefore one of
Odense's tallest buildings. The cathedral is within walking distance of the
hotel.
Brandts Kunstmuseum
Brandts Kunstmuseum is Denmark's first museum of art
and visual culture and has presented exhibitions featuring Danish and
international contemporary art since 1987. With a collection of more than
15,000 classical works of art, international photography, films and drawings,
you can experience some of the world's best artists, photographers and image
creators.

and life in the world of the Vikings. The museum brings the history of the
Vikings to life by recreating the landscape, ships and buildings of the Viking
Age. Take part in interesting activities and visit temporary exhibitions on the
world of the Vikings. The Ladby Viking Ship Grave is an attraction of

NEAREST SWIMMING POOL/BEACH
Located just 20 minutes’ walk from the hotel, the harbour bath, Havnebadet, is
well worth a visit on a hot summer’s day. Take a refreshing dip or just enjoy
life by the water in the middle of the city. If you would prefer a beach trip,
we can recommend driving to Nordstranden in Kerteminde, which is especially
good if you have children with you. Nordstranden is located 20 km from the

NEAREST ICE CREAM BAR
Summer and ice cream go hand-in-hand and you’ll find the best homemade
Italian ice cream in the area at Stefano’s Il Gusto ice cream bar located on
Vindegade, just 15 min. from the hotel. The ice cream selection changes from
day to day and they all taste heavenly. A little ice cream trip – our hotel
director Ninna’s own personal favourite is pistachio, which she thinks must be
tasted to be believed.

For shopping or just a pleasant stroll, we recommend a visit to Odense’s
pedestrian street, which is one of Denmark's longest. You’ll find a wide

as a number of quaint shopping arcades and passages. The pedestrian zone is
located just 700 m from the hotel.

walk or bike ride along the river with a stop in Eventyrhaven, a park just 700

garden and the view of Odense Cathedral. If you’re feeling energetic, we
suggest the 4 km-long trip to Fruens Bøge forest.
