Wedding at Centralværkstedet

With two different venues that are unlike any other, both exuding history and charm, the stage is set for an unforgettable day, evening and night that will leave an impression on all your guests. The venues are raw and romantic, with the space and opportunity to create exactly the atmosphere you want. Not all wedding venues are as flexible as this one, with the option to screen off if the room is too big and fill in if you want to invite lots of people.

As a special wow factor, you can also invite your guests to our beautiful courtyard, a green oasis in the middle of the city, where you can gather undisturbed for wedding photos in front of the red vintage car, olive trees or the beautiful rustic buildings. Meanwhile, your guests can enjoy drinks and lemonades in the shade of the large market umbrellas.

Centralværkstedet is a popular venue in Aarhus, so be sure to book well in advance, preferably a year in advance. Come by and see and let's talk about the kind of wedding you'd like to have. You will then receive a customized offer, and if you book one of our wedding venues, we will meet again for a planning meeting. We'll go through everything from the program to the menu, which you'll choose based on the various suggestions our talented chef will make.

And speaking of food... it's hard to hide the fact that we care a lot about food! Good food. Made with love for the ingredients and with consideration for the world around us. In our kitchen, we have a strong focus on sustainability and only use seasonal ingredients. And as far as possible organic. We get our meat from Troels at Grambogaard and fish from the North Sea. So if you want to taste the food before we make a final decision, we will of course make a deal about it.

'Centralværkstedet' is one big party room. And even here, where the ceilings are high, the charm is intense. Just look at the old railroad tracks in the floor, tall 'remise' windows, the raw iron columns and girders and the exposed bricks that make the surroundings uniquely beautiful.

It's raw, rustic and urban. And the contrast comes from the heavy burgundy velour curtains and beautiful chandeliers. You can divide the room into several smaller rooms or use the lovely landing where your guests can retreat to a lounge area and enjoy the overview of the party.

The party room has direct access to our courtyard with fire pits, fairy lights, torches and patio heaters.

'Smedien' is located directly opposite. This is the perfect place for a party with fewer guests. There's a bar, lounge area, fireplace and space for your guests at round tables, long tables or a standing reception. With exposed rafters, green plants on the ceiling and an immense charm in the details, it's hard not to fall in love when you're a guest at Smedien.

For wedding parties, we recommend round tables with 7-9 guests at each table. We set the table with white tablecloths and napkins, candles and stone plates to match the beautiful contrasts in the room. With candles throughout the room, the romantic atmosphere is intact, and of course, we roll out the red carpet so you can feel that this day is special.

Decorations, balloons and flowers also help create the right atmosphere. Thats why it's also part of the talk when we meet to discuss your dream wedding ideas. You have the option to decorate something yourself and bring flowers. Alternatively, we can bring in some of the florists we work with. They know the venue and what works well.

You are welcome to book your own DJ, band and equipment, and we can easily play music during the dinner.

And what about the cake? For many couples, the wedding cake is a big deal. It's full of traditions, symbols and it tastes heavenly when it's made with your favorite flavor. When you have your wedding at Centralværkstedet, you are blessed with a pastry chef in the kitchen who can create exactly the cake you want. Here, creativity is at its peak and the level of cake reaches new heights. This applies to shape, cut and flavor combinations. Your wedding cake can take on many forms and can be served either in the afternoon, as a dessert or as an after-dinner surprise. It's entirely up to you.

Of course, our pastry chef can also create other sweet treats. A monogrammed dessert? Petit fours with your favorite fruit? The possibilities are endless and we love to be challenged, so bring us your ideas so we can help make your dreams come true.

Dance floor and party until dawn

When the food is eaten and the speeches are made, we're ready to party! We have plenty of room for a disco ball, uplights and guests on the floor. The dance floor is an extension of our bar, so the party stays in one place. At the bar, we have skilled bartenders who mix drinks to perfection. And if you want to keep the party going, you'll get hungry again - but don't worry, there's no need to leave, because we have night food ready for everyone. Whether it's sliders, hot dogs or something you can grab and keep dancing.

It's easy to dance late when you don't have to worry about the drive home. If you want to extend the party, you and your guests can stay at Comwell Aarhus, just a two-minute walk from Centralværkstedet. Here, lovely rooms are ready for you with soft beds and a beautiful view of the city. And the next morning, when you wake up as a newlywed couple, a delicious breakfast buffet awaits you with everything a loving and festive heart could wish for.

If there are guests who would rather go home, a central location like ours is fortunately quite manageable. Centralværkstedet is about a five-minute walk from Aarhus train station and a five-minute drive to Kombardo, buses and light rail. And there are plenty of parking lots close by in Bruuns Galleri or Frederiks Plads.
