Questions and Answers about Comwell Borupgaard

Check-in is from 2pm and check-out is at 10am at the latest (Sunday at 11am).

If you wish to prolong your stay with either a two-hour early check-in or two-hour late check-out, you can purchase this for a fee of 200 DKK.

Children below the age of 18 should always be accompanied by an adult during the stay.

Comwell Borupgaard accepts all popular credit cards. Please note there is a fee on foreign credit cards. 

Comwell reserves the right to have your credit/debit card pre-authorized in advance of your arrival. Comwell.com will not debit funds from your credit card unless you have booked a non-refundable stay.

Your credit card serves as the guarantee for your booking. 

When booking with a debit card, your bank will reserve the amount for 30 days. Should you wish the amount to be made available after your stay and the 30 days period has not yet elapsed, please contact the hotel directly stating your booking number. The hotel will help you to make the funds available once more. Comwell can inform your bank to release the funds via DIBS payment services. Only your bank is able to cancel the reserved amount, however. Debit cards are Visa Electron, Maestro or MasterCard Direct.

"Quiet" and house-trained dogs are allowed in your room, as long as you inform the hotel prior to your stay that you will be bringing your dog with you. There is a surcharge of DKK 250 per night per dog. Dogs are only permitted in our standard rooms.

Regardless of when you want to pay for your stay, authorization will be made to your card, for the price of your stay and an additional DKK 500 per night, as a guarantee for your stay. If you are paying by gift voucher or cash, the authorized amount will be released to your account when you check out.

We recommend that you inform the receptionist if your say has been reserved with a debit card, as the reserved amount is not actually withdrawn. It is only blocked by the bank.

When you arrive at the hotel you will be asked to complete a registration card, sign it and present valid identification if requested. We are required to do this by Danish law.

A maximum of one extra bed can be made up in each room. Extra beds must always be booked in advance.

• Children (3-11 years) cost DKK 200 per night.

• Babies (0-2 years) sleeping in the same bed as their parents stay free of charge.

• Cots (0-3 years) cost DKK 150 per night.

• An extra bed costs DKK 300 per night.

If your stay does not include dinner, you can cancel at no charge at any time up to 4pm on your arrival date. If you cancel your room after 4pm you will be invoiced for the first night. 

Prepaid ”non-refundable stays” are not cancellable. 

Rooms with dinner included can be cancelled free of charge no later than 7 days before you are due to arrive. Cancellations between 2 and 6 days before you were due to arrive will be charged 50% of the price of the stay. If you cancel less than 2 days before your due arrival date, you will be charged the full price of the stay. Stays involving groups of nine or more must be cancelled 30 days in advance.

Our hotel is handicap friendly for both people with walking difficulties and wheelchair users.

All of our duvets and pillows are allergy tested. Please always inform us of any allergies prior to your stay, if there are particular conditions we need to be aware of.

Our reception is staffed 24/7 and is always ready to assist you with anything you need.

We offer free wireless internet throughout the hotel. You connect by selecting 'comwellhotels' as the Wi-Fi and then logging in with the code 'comwellhotels'.

All smoking is forbidden indoors as well as on the balconies and terraces. E-cigarettes are not allowed indoors. Smoking is only allowed by the ashtrays at the main door.

In case of smoking in the room, there will be a fine of DKK 5000,-.

In the restaurant
Breakfast is served Monday to Saturday from 7.00 am-10.00 am. On Sundays from 8.00 am-11.00 am.

In the room
Breakfast in the room can be ordered for an additional fee of DKK 75,- This must be ordered by 3.00 am the night before. We serve breakfast in the room between 7.15am and 10am, Monday to Saturday. On Sundays between 8.15 am and 11.00am.

Dinner is served from 6pm to 10.30 pm (kitchen closes at 9.30 pm).

If your stay includes dinner, you will be assigned a table upon arrival between 6.00 pm and 9.00 pm on a first-come, first-served basis.

Children can choose between a kids' menu or a regular menu at half price.

Dress code: No swimwear, bathrobes, or slippers.

If you want more dining options, we recommend the lobby bar/cafe until 9.30 pm.

We offer room service from 7.15 am-9.30 pm on weekdays and Saturdays, and from 8.15 am-9.30 pm on Sundays and public holidays.

There is an additional charge of DKK 50,- for room service.

Visit our cosy lobby bar where cold beverages such as beer, water, wine or cocktails are being served until 9.30 pm.

Order your breakfast or lunch "To Go". This must be ordered before 9:30pm the night before. The price for a breakfast package is either DKK 95 or DKK 125 per piece. Contact the reception for more information and to order.

If you need a taxi, we recommend Taxa Nord at tel.: (+45) 48 48 48 48.

The nearest station is Snekkersten Station, which is located within 200 meters of walking distance from the hotel. Here you can access connections to Copenhagen, Copenhagen Airport, and Helsingør.

Parking is free and takes place in our large parking area.

At Comwell Borupgaard, you can use one of our charging stations for your electric car. The parking itself is free, but there is a user fee for the electricity via the Clever app, and you need to bring your own cables.

Our fitness room features a treadmill, spinning bike, cross trainer, rowing machine, multi-tower with various strength options, opportunities for functional training, kettlebells, and dumbbells. You just need to make sure to bring your own towel.

Is the freedom to incorporate nature into your daily exercise high on your list of priorities? Then join us on a walking/running route and explore the hotel’s nature surroundings. We’ve created three different digital running routes and added them to the RunGo app, which uses turn-by-turn navigation to show you which route to run, the remaining distance and which roads or paths you should take. Just like a car’s GPS system.

The shorter three-kilometre route is also recommended as a walk-and-talk route for a healthy break during a meeting or seminar. RunGo is free and available for iOS and Android – for both smartphones and Apple Watch.

Get outdoors and experience the forest and the beach near the hotel, or cycle into Helsingør and enjoy an ice cream. You can rent bikes by the day. Just ask at reception.

Board games are more popular than ever nowadays and everyone can take part. We have a varied selection of board games that you are more than welcome to borrow. Just ask at reception.

We offer our guests relaxing one-of-a-kind experiences led by saunagus masters who make each treatment unique. You have the opportunity to experience an array of aromatherapy-based sauna experiences including midnight sauna, romantic valentine sauna, Tuesday sauna and the saunagus ritual.

Saunagus is pure well-being for the body and mind. Using pure essential oils, our skilled saunagus masters will create an amazing aromatherapy experience for you with a special technique in which they whirl a towel to distribute the heat and fragrant scent of the oil in all directions.

At Comwell Borupgaard near Helsingør, you can indulge in a little extra luxury with a variety of spa treatments, all with a focus on enhancing your well-being. The spa is staffed by highly trained spa therapists who offer head-to-toe treatments. Choose from a wide range of treatments for the face, hands, feet and the rest of your body.

All stays require payment card entry, even if you have a gift card. Payment will not be charged when entering your card details. All stays are settled at the hotel - except for non-refundable stays, where the amount is deducted when booking. These stays are non-refundable or non-transferable. Please note that if you use a MasterCard Debit or VISA Debit as a guarantee, the amount will be reserved in your account and will only be released again after departure, and can last up to 30 days. 

If you have a gift card valid for all Comwell hotels, you can book your stay online and settle with gift cards at check out. Credit cards for online booking are only a guarantee of arrival. Please note we do not accept gift cards from other Comwell hotels. Gift cards cannot be used to pay for prepaid non-refundable stays. Gift cards from Gavefabrikken must always be ordered via the link that comes with the gift card and cannot be used as payment unless the stay is specifically booked through this. 

All our hotels have the Danish Organic Cuisine Bronze Label, which means that 30-60% of all our food and beverage purchases are organic. We believe that the Organic Cuisine Label will improve the quality and taste experience that our kitchens provide our guests.

We take active measures to prevent food waste. We, therefore, make sure that our food waste is recycled as biogas and second-generation biodiesel.

All Comwell hotels are Green Key certified, which means that an extra effort is made to protect the environment. We are Denmark's most sustainable hotel chain, and we use local ingredients to the extent possible instead of importing foreign ingredients.

You automatically earn 5% of the total amount of your final bill for any overnight stay. All points earned can be used as payment for your next overnight stay, with the exception of stays involving conferences and meetings.
