This is how Malene Ripullone welcomes us at the reception when she greets us at Comwell Borupgaard. The Co-Work area is buzzing with life, conference guests are brainstorming in the various meeting rooms, and spa guests take the short stroll from the AquaSpa down to the scenic park spa. The park, where the spa shop and treatment areas sit side by side with two large outdoor jacuzzis and saunagus.
Quite scenic with huge trees, grassy areas, a small lake and a large terrace area.
As a spa guest, you quickly sense the special focus on each individual guest when you walk in your bathing suit and slippers from the AquaSpa to the park spa. Signs and writing on the walls illustrate how you can easily and quickly get from one department to another, but also which treatments you can book day by day:
“With us it's all about you. It's about your needs, your mind, your body and how you feel now and how you want to feel. We go to work every day to help our guests find balance and find peace and time to prioritize well-being and closeness for themselves in a busy day,” says Malene.
In 2024, Comwell Borupgaard was nominated for a Danish Beauty Award in the Spa of the Year category, and with a large portion of modesty, you can tell that this is something the spa manager is proud of. With good reason. The dedication to each guest's spa experience is unmistakable.
Malene Ripullone's greatest wish for the spa universe at Borupgaard is that everyone who visits and books treatments should feel like the best, most balanced version of themselves
themselves when they leave the hotel - but also experience being able to return to their busy lives with recharged batteries:
“In a busy life with many impressions - work, friends, family, social media, etc. - it's more important than ever to be able to find balance and peace in the midst of the hustle and bustle. We try to make this possible with our AquaSpa, which has several special baths and saunas, but also with the treatments we offer in the spa every day throughout the week,” says the spa manager.
For Malene, the daily work is about creating the perfect setting for spa guests to step into another world with treatments designed to make everyone prioritize and feel themselves on a deeper level:
“In our world here at Borupgaard, the only thing that matters is the well-being of the individual guest. We go out of our way to offer the very best and set the perfect framework for guests to achieve presence, balance and well-being with a focus on body and mind,” she explains, pointing out that they especially practice this by stimulating all senses in the best possible way.
And being able to do that is first and foremost about using the right methods and the right products. That's why Malene has selected some very special products for the spa universe at Borupgaard, namely from Aromatherapy Associates.
In fact, Borupgaard is the only spa in Denmark that can boast of offering treatments using Aromatherapy Associates products and methods. For the spa manager, this is an important venture, as these products are, in her opinion, the ultimate in spa and wellness:

What they have in common is that they strengthen, uplift, energize and de-stress the body, but also the mind,” she states and elaborates on why she is also proud of their signature treatment, ‘The Ultimate Aromatherapy Experience’:
“Our signature treatment is very special as we look with the spa guest into how they feel the moment they lie down on the couch with us. They answer a questionnaire about their stress levels, skin, hormones, routines, body and mind, and from that, our skilled, trained spa staff select the right oils to suit the individual.
Malene Ripullone explains that essential oils and aromas affect our minds through scent and skin contact. But scents also affect our memory center in the brain in a split second, making it possible to evoke memories from childhood:
“The essential oils work both through our skin, but also through our respiratory system when we breathe the aromas through our lungs. It makes for a complete, in-depth, all-round spa experience.
