Are you dreaming? Or are you in HAY-heaven?! The hotel is decorated from top to bottom with Danish HAY, which always hits the mark in hearts and zeitgeists. And gives your wedding exactly that relaxed and classy city vibe you dream of.

Surrounded by the raw, industrial charm of the harbor, Comwell Aarhus rises to 94 meters. A pitch-black lighthouse in the middle of a bustling neighborhood, where street food, art, and culture pop up side by side with small, lovely wine bars and cafes. This creates the most ingenious settings for the city-chic urban wedding. You can even stroll here with the rest of the wedding party from the city's churches and town hall.

Design aficionados? Hey, HAY! Comwell Aarhus is for those who love the magic of HAY and its beautiful intersection of art, architecture, and fashion! The Danish design company has stylishly decorated the hotel yet wonderfully relaxed with a spot-on sense of beautiful, coordinated colors. And floor-to-ceiling curtains help to emphasize the exclusive atmosphere. We almost guarantee that a wedding here can make Instagram glow.

But first, a little wedding planning...

Contact us as soon as you have set a date for your "I do," so we can get started with your "to-do." And preferably 4-6 months before so that we have plenty of time to plan your big day. We will arrange a meeting where we go through the day from start to finish and you will meet the head chef. Also, we hear all your wishes and thoughts!

We offer you a free tasting dinner, and you take home the wine that belongs to our wedding package. Then you will receive an offer that can be adjusted with anything that comes to your mind. It's your big day - and our job is to fulfill your wedding wishes!

Wedding in the kitchen

Our head chef and sous chef are a pair of ambitious gentlemen lit up by kitchen sparks and spirit and always eager to give it their all. And the kitchen at Comwell Aarhus is known for its gastronomy magic. The ingredients are predominantly organic, and we prefer to have them delivered by skilled local producers simply because we have the deepest respect for the ingredients and know how they taste when they have just been picked, nipped, or pulled out of the ground. And our wedding menus are, of course, generous with all that the various seasons offer.

At our meeting, you will meet the head chef and restaurant manager and are welcome to ask any questions you may have!

Venue, decoration, and bridal suite

Which party venue should you choose? And what table setting?

Of course, HAY is part of the party! And the beautiful design helps give each of our party venues its unique expression. Party Venue K on the 2nd floor is popular not only for its design but also for its stunning view. And party venues A, B, and C have magnificent chandeliers that can be raised and lowered. In party venue C, you also have your own terrace and lounge furniture. But come and see for yourself!

The carpet in your party venue, not only does it help complete the look, it also helps with acoustics. But when it's time to dance, we have a real dance floor that we lay out so you don't have to dance on the carpet. Our stage has spotlights. And all venues are equipped with an iPad system for light and sound, so you can get the party started! We also highly recommend our in-house DJ, because we know he can pack the dance floor!

Table decorations

As a starting point, we set up with white tablecloths and napkins, and white candles. But we have a variety of colors you can choose from, for example, if you want to be inspired by HAY's inviting color combinations. We collaborate with floral artist Karsten Pindstrup, who knows our beautiful party venues and knows what looks good. And as always, love, at first sight, is created. And you are welcome to contact Karsten and share any special wishes.

All other table decorations are not included, but we are happy to help with hearts, tulle, and balloons for an additional fee.

And then have a romantic wedding party!

Our experience tells us that a wedding party always starts very romantic. And ends up as a wild party. So go ahead and have a blast! And when Niels W. Gade's "Wedding Waltz" has been danced and the party is winding down, you can retreat to your room with a 180-degree view - which is included in the price. And wake up as proper newlyweds for breakfast the next day with morning hair in a relaxed atmosphere.

The hotel is located close to the bus, light rail, train station, and Kombardo. And there are plenty of parking spaces at the hotel and in the parking garage across the street.

Terms and Conditions

What about payment, cancellation, and children's discounts? Read more about what you need to know when you hold a party at Comwell Aarhus.

  • Cancellation can be made free of charge up to 3 months before the 1st day of the event.

  • Between 1-3 months before the 1st day of the event, 50% of the ordered amount will be invoiced.

  • Less than 1 month before the 1st day of the event, 100% will be invoiced.

  • However, cancellation'* of up to 10% of the reported number of participants can be made free of charge up to 48 hours before the event.

*By cancellation, which must always be made in writing, is meant cancellation, reduction, shortening, relocation, as well as similar significant changes about the confirmation.

The following discounts apply after payment has been made for a minimum of 30 adults.

For children who receive the same party menu as the adults, the following discounts apply to the menu:

  • Children up to 3 years old are free.

  • Children between 3-12 years old receive a 50% discount
